Recording Project

The Band has been working on our CD in our spare time and the project is only a few songs from being finished. Myself and Dave Wolf have written several songs. Some have been recorded at Sound Prism Studio and some in Milkman Studio. Those of you that follow the band have heard some of these songs performed on stage such as "Rattlesnake Lover", "Beach Walkin' ", " Hurricane Party", "Trip To Memphis", "Down To New Orleans", " Crusin' ". We hope to be finished with the project in a few months. Stay tuned.

Band Members Awarded Plaques

The Memphis Highway Band was taken completely by surprise August 4th, 2006 when the entire Woodlee family showed up at the Fox & Hounds during our gig. They presented myself and David Wolf each a plaque for saving the life of their 74 year old mother, Charlene Woodlee when she had a massive heart attack on the dance floor at the Road House November 12th, 2005 during one of our gigs. Myself and David performed CPR until Fire Rescue arrived. Charlene is in good health and was dancing was again. We were so thrilled to see her doing so well.

Recording Project

We made a live recording at the Roadhouse in January. I am currently mastering a demo CD for Memphis Highway to use as a demo to solicit work for the band. We have 3 sets of songs recorded which will be enough to put together a live CD of the band. Once the project is complete we will offer them for sell at the gigs. We also are making plans to go into a recording studio to record our original songs. That project may take a while. I'll keep you posted as things progress.

New Guitar Amp
	I just added a new guitar amp to my stage. It is the Roland Cube 60 and it kicks butt.

Beer Flavored Harmonicas

We added another chapter to our book of gig disasters and funny stories. We have a front row seat for everything that happens in the clubs. A few weeks ago there was the drunk that fell asleep in his chair and then fell out of his chair crashing into the adjacent table sending chairs flying in all directions. Last night, February 10th, a patron who could hardly walk was trying to dance on the dance floor in front of the stage. He started moving backwards and fell across the stage monitor. As he went down he knocked the plastic tray off of my mic stand that holds my beer, harmonicas and other accessories. My harmonicas ended up on the floor soaked in beer. I don't know if they play any better now but they sure taste better.

New Guitar
	I just added another new guitar to my collection. I have been shopping for a high quality accoustic guitar for several months. I fell in love with the Taylor 614ce and it was a once in a life time deal I could not pass up. A-Aardvark's Music & Rental sold me this wonderful instrument. See the link page for their web site.

Blues, R&B, & CPR

For those of you who have not already heard, on Saturday, November 12th, while Memphis Highway was performing at the Roadhouse Bar a woman on the dance floor grabbed her chest and collasped to the floor. She stopped breathing and had no pulse. Myself and the drummer, David Wolf, began CPR while waiting for Fire Rescue to arrive. I recently received an email from one of the woman's daughters with an update on her mother. I am happy to report that even though the woman suffered a heart attack and under went open heart surgery, she is doing well and is on the road to recovery. It's a good feeling knowing that the CPR training we received over the past several years paid off to save this woman's life.
